The Ski Mountaineering World Cup is back in the Vaud Alps! Villars will once again host an elite World Cup event in Sprint and Mixed Relay on April 4th and 5th, 2025, on the Bretaye plateau.
Ski mountaineering is a popular sport in Switzerland, thanks to its endless possibilities for routes and adventures. Every year, more and more hiking and mountain enthusiasts are drawn to this sport.
As a reminder, ski mountaineering will make its debut at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milano Cortina.

This event requires each team member to complete a sprint-style circuit lasting around 15 minutes, with two ascents and two descents.
Sprint 70m D+ / 70m D-
It’s the shortest event in ski mountaineering, offering an intense combination of gliding, transitions, carrying sections, kick turns, descents, climbs, and tactical strategies. The top athletes complete the course in under 3 minutes!
Ideally located in front of the Bretaye 1808 restaurant, the entire race can be followed by spectators.
