Villars is gearing up for a truly exceptional moment! From 1 to 5 April 2026, the resort will host the Finals of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup.
All ski mountaineering disciplines will be featured, including Individual, Sprint, Vertical and Team events. A week of excitement, top-level performance and intense emotions awaits in the heart of the Alpes Vaudoises. Join us on the peaks and feel the thrill alongside the world’s best athletes!
Ski mountaineering will make its debut at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
Disciplines 2026
Mixed-Relay 140m D+ / 140m D-
This event requires each team member to complete a sprint-style circuit lasting around 15 minutes, with two ascents and two descents.
Sprint 70m D+ / 70m D-
It’s the shortest event in ski mountaineering, offering an intense combination of gliding, transitions, carrying sections, kick turns, descents, climbs, and tactical strategies. The top athletes complete the course in under 3 minutes!
Ideally located in front of the Bretaye 1808 restaurant, the entire race can be followed by spectators.
